2024 Intercollegiate Gathering for Civic Engagement
November 11th, 2024
On October 29th, just one week before Election Day, Stanford Democracy Day hosted the first-ever Intercollegiate Gathering for Civic Engagement! We united colleges and universities who have successfully advocated for class-free Election Days or are actively in the process of doing so. Student leaders from across the country shared strategies and insights in mobilizing their peers and administrators on campus, urging other institutions to follow suit.
Our partners for the 2024 Gathering included:
-
Stanford University (Host)
-
American University
-
Brown University
-
Columbia University
-
Community College of Philadelphia
-
Drexel University
-
Rice University
-
Student Voters Union (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
-
University of Mary Washington
-
Wayne State University
The Intercollegiate Gathering is a non-partisan platform for generational change. We are not just encouraging youth voting but cultivating a culture for Gen Z where engaging with civics is celebrated and expected. With more than 40 events and thousands of students participating in programming last year, Democracy Day at Stanford returned for its fourth consecutive year. One campus at a time, we are building a future that thrives on a civically engaged youth.
